Favre Saga, Thrush of Hands, and Happy B-Day.

IMPORT-

Really have not been able to Import too much. Mostly have been keeping up with the sad case of Brett Favre. Watched the press conference yesterday, and I hope he does well but it's not going to be the same. I mentioned in a previous blog that I would be rooting for the Bears, and I still don't think I can do that, but I won't be hoping the Packers take on my Steelers in the Super Bowl like I do every year.

Also caught up on some late night talk shows in which some of them I could not watch because of the horrible interviews that Jay Leno conducts. The one in particular was with Jack Black, who is a entertaining guest to watch most of the time. Well he was plugging Tropic Thunder having just been on the show recently for Kung Fu Panda. And Jay basically asked some of the same canned questions even sighting the previous time he was there. Nothing interesting, all boring, and really going no where. The worst is when he has a stand up type there and all he does is set them up for the next bit after knowing what's happening after doing a pre-interview. From what I know Letterman doesn't do pre-interviews and asks real questions that make him seem like he is interested and tries to have a bit of fun with most. Even Conan who doesn't enter journalistic stlye like Letterman exudes excitement and makes it enjoyable to watch. Nice guy,and hard working is Mr. Leno, but I don't understand why he has won the ratings for the last 8 years.

I have a stack of Netflix to watch this weekend, one is called SYDNEY or HARD EIGHT and it's Paul Thomas Anderson debut film (Boogie Nights,Magnolia,There Will Be Blood). It stars a much younger John C. Reilly, and Gwenyth Paltrow. I'm quite interested to see this one. Also VANTAGE POINT(bla), and BATMAN:MASK OF THE PHANTASM which is supposed to be great stuff.

EXPORT

Had a couple of WHARBLING THRUSH rehearsals this week. Slowly coming along with time twindling down. Feels like I'm clammed up a bit with this, but feel confident once we get things down I'll be able to roam and discover more. Having hard time figuring out who my character is, what he is doing, and what journey he is on motivational wise. I think we have solid funny bits set and ready, and all we got left is finding the spine of the piece.

HANDS had our third show last night. All improv again, and it went well I think. Some fun things were discovered. I think we are figuring out a bit more of how eachother performs in front of an audience, and hopefully that will help when/if we get another shot at doing a sketch show.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO DUSTIN HOFFMAN #71

One of the most interesting, successfull, and enjoyable actors we've had in the last 35 years. Musts are The Graduate,Midnight Cowboy,Marathon Man,Lenny,All The President's Men,Kramer v. Kramer,Tootsie,Rain Man, and recents Runaway Jury,Stranger Than Fiction. The latter I think will hold up well in the years to come. Hard to believe he is 71, his youthfull nature gives great perspective on choices in acting and in life.
