Step Brothers, To Live and Die in LA, and Whardling Thrush.

IMPORT-
Still catching up with MAD MEN, still good, still enjoying, and as with most shows it really gets interesting with the last few episodes of the season. Two left for me then I start on season two. What I'm finding really interesting is how all the characters really change themselves to who they are around. Really show the dicotomy of people and maybe especially of that era somewhat. Still present as we all act different if we are with are parents or our peers. People of different income, background, or beliefs. We really change how we act and in many ways who we are.
I finally also got to see STEP BROTHERS today. I was very excited and thinking that this was a guarantee of the summer comedies. Well sadly it's not. Sure parts were funny, but overall it was not very good. That's two bad ones for Mr. Ferrell with this and SEMI-PRO. And as for Chicago's John C. Reilly I head and shoulders enjoyed WALK HARD more.  For this and the last it seemed like they offered very little in terms of script. Not saying that ANCHORMAN, or TALLEDEGA NIGHTS were oscar worthy, but they offered basic obstacles for the characters to which they had a desire. This did not, it didn't have nothing rolling forward for the audience even to partially put interest in. This movie and INDIANA JONES are my disapontments of the summer.
Also just got done watching  TO LIVE AND DIE IN LA. Really holds up well for being 23 years old. William Friedken knows how to do gritty cop tales, and car chases. And watch it to check out a young William Petersen (CSI). Besides the cheesy 80's music in attempt to sell what was then records, it is a really good movie.
I'm trying to figure out a way to sort of rate these movies I see. Something quick to give an overall impression, because I could become exhaustive with these typed words and I don't want to. It's hopefully going to evolve to something but for now...wait for Step Brothers on dvd, rent Mad Men now, and check out To Live and Die in LA. Well that sucks. Oh Well.
EXPORT
Had a rehearsal for the newly titled 'Wharbling Thrush' show I'm doing at the ANNOYANCE THEATER at the end of the month. It's going to be a twenty minute play developed via improv. Ours is a english setting in the time of Oscar Wilde. Great fun so far, and last night we seems to solidify the first scene. Getting to the nitty gritty time as we are about three weeks away. Show details to come down the line.
