Tim and Eric, Bob Odenkirk, and HOWIE!

TIM AND ERIC
BOB ODENKIRK
HOWIE MANDEL as i like to remember him, funny and not hosting deal or no deal. i actually shared a stage with him once. ask me to tell the story sometime. What fun!
IMPORT-

Watched the new episode of Mad Men. Keeps plugging along, and getting more interesting as it's using the changing 60's culture as a driving force of the show.

Also watched TIM AND ERIC AWESOME SHOW, GREAT JOB! I watched the dvd of it priorly and wasnt totally impressed by it, but I gave it another try dvr'ing off of cartoon network. It certainly goes outside of the norm, but someones, and I think too often just goes for weirdness. It a nice break once and while but seems like they do it like they are going to the well a bit too often. I enjoyed this one probably more so than the others I watched. Baby Clowns, and the game name things that arent jackie chan made me pee slightly. (toothpaste, this couch, ah ah Jackie Chan)

Which brings me to Bob Odenkirk, who I think for the general public and perhaps many comedians gets a lack of attention. He works with Tim and Eric, and has a list of really inventive and ground swelling history of funnies behind him. Of course Mr. Show which may be one of the greatest sketch shows ever (right up there with SNL, Sid Ceaser, and whatever Sonny and Cher did). Also TOM GOES TO MAYOR,writer for SNL,CONAN,actor/writer BEN STILLER SHOW,dir/actor RUN RONNIE RUN,and the upcoming DAVID'S SITUATION. And his roles on shows like Seinfeld,Curb,Larry Sanders,Arrested Development, and more show he is a go to guy. Bob has also directed four features. He is someone I really look up to, and want to emulate what he's been able to do. Three cheers for Bob!

EXPORT

Took what I think we're giant steps forward in my batman satire DARK DOMESTICATION. Instead of making it just a one joke thing Ive been trying to make it just a different story line of Batman just like the comics do. The goal is three parts 5 minutes a piece trying to discover what Batman would be like if he was no longer needed, and acted like a old high school star athlete who still wears his lettermans jacket 20 years after the fact. (in Batman's case his mask)And now since I've been working on it I've really grown to hate my first draft. So glad we didnt hop on that draft and film. Very little is being kept of it, and now I only need to work on act's 2 and 3 of the story.

HOWIE! had a show last night as well as part of RADFEST YES 2! Our shows have been super fun lately, and it continued tonight. We have had great energy with our shows no matter the size of the crowd, and we have been doing well mixing it up a bit too in terms of energy. Super fun playing, and our warm ups are equally as fun. I really hope in the future HOWIE! gets a chance at a run at IO, or doing some sketch, festivals, etc. Cuz I think with just some tinkering and minor direction on what our form can do we can really fall into a groove for us as performers, the audience, and improv artistes. Which I think you must appease all three of those to really please the gods of humor.

Say hello to your moms.
