Summer Movie Anticipation.

The summer movie season has officially opened, and it's gotten me a little worried. I can look past Wolverine easily and realize that there is over 3 months of summer movies to come. But when I think of it I can say with certainty it will not be like last summer of DARK KNIGHT and IRON MAN. Sure they was a lot of stinkers last summer, but these two movies were instantly great movies. Will we have even two comparable movies this year?

SECTION 1:IT'S NOT YOU IT'S ME.
This summer there seems to be a lot of movies (sequels/remakes) to which I have no ties to with the past. STAR TREK (maybe have seen 2 of the others), ANGELS AND DEMONS (will we get burned again like with the Da Vinci turd), TERMINATOR SALVATION (ive seen them all,but they dont give me a movie boner), LAND OF THE LOST (i like me some ferrell, but an old 70's tv show?), TRANSFORMERS (didnt have many or any of these as a kid and thought the first movie was dumb action fun), and GI JOE (i loved gi joe as a kid,but im fairly certain director  Stephen Sommers of Mummy 2 and Van Helsing will screw this up)
All that being said about all of these movies, I'm still going to see them all in the theatres.

SECTION 2: THE OTHERS.
This stuff I'm excited for because it's a bit more up my alley and may be some really good stuff. Still nothing that I'll be counting down for like I did for Iron and Bat man.
THE HANGOVER (trailer looks great, by Todd Phillps who gave us OLD SCHOOL), YEAR ONE (great pedigree and Harold Ramis directing and story by), THE HURT LOCKER (limited release summer movie with great buzz, and tops trailer.stars Jeremy Renner), PUBLIC ENEMIES (may look forward to this the most, dynamite actors, story, and time period), FUNNY PEOPLE (im guessing there is something else besides the twist they give away in trailer,Judd Apatow is good, but may be running out of getting away with these movies. comedy winds are shifting) and INGLORIOUS BASTERDS (not a big tarintino fan but this movie seems to find the violence and revenge excusable.)

So there it is. I'm still not that excited.
